Directors: Zach Niles and Banker White
Run time: 78 minutes

SIERRA LEONE'S REFUGEE ALLSTARS tells the remarkable
story of an inspiring group of musicians who form a band
while living in a West African refugee camp. Set against the
backdrop of a brutal civil war, the film details the group's
heroic stories of survival and their daily struggle to keep
hope and music alive.

CUBA MIA (2002)
Director: Rhonda L. Mitrani
run time: 49 minutes

With an under-current of Post-Castro politics, Cuba Mia tells
the personal story of a group of ex-pat Cuban Jews who
embark on a mission to Cuba through the Jewish Solidarity
Foundation. The journey turns into something magical as the
group is transported back to their homeland, an island that
has hardly changed in the forty years they have been gone.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2008 7:30PM
IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS (2006)
director: James Longley
run time: 94 minutes

To make this award-winning film, American director James
Longley spent more than two years filming in Iraq, creating
this stunningly photographed, poetically rendered
documentary of the war-torn country as seen through the
eyes of Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds.

SUNDAY, MARCH 2, 2008 4:00PM
Ithaki (2005)
Director: Ibrahim El Batout
Run time: 70 minutes

After the end of the Trojan War, Ulysses, the legendary Greek
warrior, began his journey back to his homeland Ithaki. A
journey that should have taken him days lasted for many
years. In 1922, Constantine P. Cavafy, the Alexandrian poet,
wrote the poem “Ithaki” that inspires the film. Set in modern
day Cairo, Ithaki glimpses into fifteen characters whose lives
have been touched by war, illness, disability and addiction,
fusing documentary and fiction genre to highlight the thin line
that exists between reality and fantasy
